For Some Happy Food, Visit Hippy Chick Hummus

If you’re looking for amazingly delicious, whole, plant-based food, you have to visit Hippy Chick Hummus at 237 North Market Street in Frederick. This small, colorful cafe offers cozy window seating and tables, but it is a small space so if they’re busy or you have a large group, you may want to consider taking your food to go. All of the food is fresh-made in house and organic, whenever possible. Hippy Chick has high standards of health for their customers and the environment.

The business is one hundred percent compostable and they’ve partnered with Key City Compost to help accomplish this. They have a goal of being fully sustainable and ecologically responsible. You’re encouraged to bring back growlers or your own glass jars to refill kombucha whenever you can.

The menu is delightfully varied, including wraps like a falafel wrap, sandwiches like veggie burgers and cashew ricotta grilled cheese, smoothie bowls, salads, sides like soup and fries, and desserts like cookies and fudge bites. And they even have items for kids, like plain hummus and pita, or peanut butter and banana on pita. Follow their social pages to see daily specials and limited time offerings.

Hippy Chick also offers t-shirts, sweatshirts, pins and magnets with fun designs for sale so you can help them promote this great business. They also make their hummus in small batches for wholesale at both Common Market locations in Frederick and Pleasant Hill Produce in Walkersville. The hummus is currently offered in five flavors – traditional, everything bagel, coconut curry, chipotle, and Old Bay.

Hippy Chick Hummus is a beautiful little cafe with great food (their smoothie bowl in a cup is one of my favorites!) and nice people. If you want to do something good for your health, and the environment, visit Hippy Chick.
